Vivo is a Chinese multinational technology company that designs, develops, and manufactures smartphones, smartphone accessories, software, and online services. It was founded in 2009 in Dongguan, Guangdong. The brand focuses on providing a high quality audio experience for users by utilising Hi-Fi chips in its smartphones. Software developed by the company includes the Vivo App Store, iManager, and a proprietary Android-based operating system called Funtouch OS.

With research and development centers in Shenzhen and Nanjing, the company employed 1,600 R&D personnel as of January 2016.
Vivo’s product offerings are composed of three series of smartphones all targeted at middle to upper-income white collar professionals and students living in urban areas. The X series is the company’s premium series of smartphones. Launched in December 2015, its newest addition, the Vivo X6, packs a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM.
The V series represents a mid-level offering, combining solid specs with an attractive price tag. In July 2015 Vivo launched the V series to much fanfare in the Indian market by introducing the V1 and V1 Max. The V1 sports a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 5-inch HD display. A slightly more powerful version of its cousin, the V1 Max boasts a 5.5-inch display and an upgraded 1.4 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor. and now its latest smart phone in this v series is v3 and v3 Max.v3 Max is one of its best selling phone of the Vivo brand.
On the lower end of the spectrum, Vivo’s Y series is targeted at more price-conscious consumers. Vivo’s newest offering in the Y series is the Y55l, released in october,2016. With slightly reduced specs, the Y55l still comes loaded with Vivo’s Funtouch OS and a host of smart features designed to make users’ lives easier such as Smart Wake, Smart Click, and Smart Beauty Mode and it is sporting Qualcomm snapdragon 430 a octa core chipset.
