Allerton TMD is a railway traction maintenance depot situated in Liverpool, England. The depot is opposite Liverpool South Parkway and is visible to the north on the way to Hunts Cross. The depot is located less than 2 km (1.2 mi) from Garston Freightliner Terminal (Garston Docks) and also within 7 km (4.3 mi) of Widnes Intermodal Depot. The depot code is now AN but, in steam days, the shed code was 8H between 1960-1963, and then 8J between 1963-1973.

During the British Rail era, Allerton TMD maintained all main line and shunting locomotives for the Liverpool area, having an allocation of Class 08s and a wheel lathe.

Until 2006, Merseyrail Class 507 and Class 508 electric multiple units (EMU) were regularly sent to this depot for wheel turning. A new wheel lathe has opened at Kirkdale TMD thus ending the practice of sending units here. Other units including former Virgin Voyagers and goods wagons and locomotives have been stabled here.

In 2011, It was announced that Network Rail had purchased the (then) closed Allerton TMD with the intention of refurbishing and reopening the depot for servicing of Northern Rail's fleet of Class 156 diesel multiple units (DMU). Previously owned by the English Welsh and Scottish Railway Allerton TMD re-opened on 10 December 2011 when the first trains arrived. From March 2011 until April 2016 the depot was operated by Northern Rail. The first Class 319 units entered traffic in March 2015 with the completion of the first phase of the North West Electrification programme.
