Anand Kripalu (born 1958) is an Indian business executive. He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Spirits Limited (USL), India's largest alcohol beverage company and a group company of Diageo. Kripalu is member of Diageo's Executive Committee. Kripalu has over three decades of management and marketing experience working in the FMCG industry across Asia and Africa.
Anand Kripalu was the son of an army officer, he attended La Martiniere College, Lucknow, before graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras with a Bachelors in Electronics. In 1983 he continued his education with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta. Kripalu completed his education at the Wharton School with the Advanced Management Program in 2004.
Anand Kripalu joined and worked with Unilever for 22 years and his final role was Managing Director of Unilever's East Africa operation. He worked for a number of years at Cadbury PLC and Mondelez / Kraft Foods. He joined Cadbury India in 2005 as Managing Director and in 2008 he became President – Cadbury Asia. In February 2010 following the Cadbury acquisition by Kraft Foods he became South Asia and Indochina President, responsible for Vietnam, Thailand and India.
Kripalu joined United Spirits as CEO Designate in October 2013. In 2015, Kripalu led the integration of USL with Diageo India, creating a single operating entity combining Diageo's wide range of global brands with USL's strong market-leading position, portfolio of domestic brands and distribution network. Under Kripalu, United Spirits reported a profit of Rs 929.30 crore in the second quarter of financial year 2016.
He is a member of the Diageo Global Executive Committee.
