Asteracanthus is an extinct genus of Elasmobranchii (sharks belonging to the family Hybodontidae.

This genus is known in the fossil records from the Devonian to the Cretaceous (age range: from 416.0 to 70.6 million years ago). Fossils are found in the marine strata of United States, Iran, Switzerland, Madagascar and Europe.
