From the Underworld is a 1967 single from British psychedelic band The Herd, with seventeen year old Peter Frampton singing the vocal. It became the band's first hit upon release, reaching no.6 in the UK charts and no.3 in the Netherlands that Autumn. The song is based on the ancient Greek legend of Orpheus and his wife Eurydice in their flight from Hades which, according to The Mod Generation, is used as a euphemism for the death of the Mod subculture.

Mojo Magazine voted 'From the Underworld' one of the 100 greatest psychedelic songs.
