George's Dock, Dublin

George's Dock is in the Docklands area of Dublin, close to the International Financial Services Centre. Originally built in the 1820s as a working maritime dock, it was named for George IV of the United Kingdom. As with other public spaces within the Docklands, George's Dock was subject to redevelopment and gentrification during the late 20th century. Parts of George's Dock are used by the Docklands Authority as an event space. From a transport perspective, it is served served by the Luas Red Line which runs from Tallaght to Connolly and from Busáras to Point Village (3Arena). Dublin Bus serves George's Dock using the number 90 bus service. The Red Line extension opened on 9 December 2009.
