Mara Servetto


Margherita Servetto, commonly known as Mara, (born September 9, 1957 in Turin) is an Italian architect, designer.

She studied at the Polytechnic University of Turin where she received her degree in Architecture under the supervision of Professor Achille Castiglioni. When Castiglioni obtained a teaching position at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Mara moved to Milan where she collaborated with Castiglioni until 1990. With Ico Migliore she worked on research, architectural and design projects. In 1992 she drew some objects for Alessi. In the meantime, Mara developed researches and trials on the use of fiberglass both in architecture and design.

With Ico Migliore and Giovanna Piccinno she began to produce “AA.VV. Autorivari” objects, which started to be distributed in Italy. in via Cappuccio, during Salone del Mobile, in 1996.

In 1997 he started, with his husband Ico Migliore, Migliore + Servetto Architects, an architecture firm which creates , together with an international team of architects and designers, projects on various scales.

Mara Servetto teaches Display and Museography at the Architecture department the Polytechnic University of Milan.
