Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is the local governing body for Neath Port Talbot, UK. It is currently controlled by the Labour party. On 10 May 2017, the Labour group elected Robert Jones as their leader. He subsequently become leader of the council. His deputy is yet to be announced.

Elections take place every five years. The last election was 4 May 2017.[2]

Neath Port Talbot is a Labour stronghold. Labour have been in power in Neath Port Talbot since 1996.[3]

The mayor of Neath Port Talbot for 2016-2017 is Councillor Sheila Penry and the deputy mayor is Councillor Janice Dudley.

The county borough is divided into 42 electoral wards returning a total of 64 councillors. Some of these wards are coterminous with communities (parishes) of the same name.
