New Hanover Township is a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,939 at the 2010 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 21.6 square miles (55.9 km2), all of it land. It consists mainly of rolling hills and valleys and is drained by the Schuylkill River mostly via the Perkiomen Creek. Its villages include Fagleysville, Frederick (also in Upper Frederick Township,) Hoffmansville, Layfield, New Hanover, New Hanover Square, and Sassamansville (also in Douglass Township.) Its numbered routes are 73 east-to-west and 663 north-to-south, which join briefly in Layfield.

As of the 2010 census, the township was 95.3% White, 1.2% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 2.0% Asian, and 1.2% were two or more races. 1.6% of the population were of Hispanic or Latino ancestry.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7,369 people, 2,532 households, and 2,147 families residing in the township. The population density was 341.3 people per square mile (131.8/km2). There were 2,615 housing units at an average density of 121.1/sq mi (46.8/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.32% White, 0.31% African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.79% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.05% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.76% of the population.
