Prasterone sodium sulfate (brand names Astenile, Mylis, Teloin), also known as dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) sodium salt, as well as androst-5-en-3β-ol-17-one 3β-sulfate sodium salt, is an androstane steroid and the sodium salt of the 3-sulfate ester of prasterone (dehydroepiandrosterone; DHEA) which has been marketed in Japan as a method of labor induction via injection for the treatment of insufficient cervical ripening and cervical dilation during childbirth.
