Romanian Top 100

The Romanian Top 100 was the national singles chart of Romania from 1999 to 2012. It was a ranking that is based on the compilation of charts submitted by local Romanian radio stations. It was published weekly and it started running in 1996. It ceased publication on February 19, 2012. It was recognized as an official chart by the European division of Billboard, Music & Media.

The artist with the most number ones is Shakira with eight songs that reached number one. The positions before 2002 are still unknown except some songs, as the official site only has charts starting from 2002. From 2002 to 2012 there were 120 number-one singles, the longest being "I Follow Rivers" by Lykke Li, for fourteen weeks.

Starting with October 2009, the chart was premierly presented on Kiss FM, each Sunday morning with a delay of a week. The radio show was presented by VJane Andreea Berghea. The compiler of the chart was Nielsen from 1999 to 2010, but from 2010, the chart was compiled by Media Forest Romania, a franchise of an Israeli monitoring agency.

NOTE: The positions for the earlier charts (1996 to 1999) and half of the year 2000 are not known, which makes it possible that some artists, like Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Kylie Minogue or Madonna could have a bigger number of number ones.
