Romsås


Romsås is neighborhood in the city of Oslo, Norway. Romsås was an independent borough until January 1, 2004, when was merged into the larger borough of Grorud. Romsås is located northeast of Groruddalen with Lillomarka to the north. The name Romsås originated with the Romsås farm which by 1850 was one of the biggest farms in Østre Aker . With the expansion of Oslo after the Second World War, Oslo Kommune allowed OBOS to build a new borough in 1967. The project was started in 1969 with the new borough divided into 6 neighborhoods.

Romsås Church (Romsås kirke) The church was constructed of wood and has 220 seats. It was designed by architect Arne E. Sæther. The style is postmodernistic with an altar piece by Nina Sundbye.
