SpaceX CRS-16, also known as SpX-16, is a cargo resupply mission to the International Space Station currently manifested to be launched on August 2018. The mission was contracted by NASA and is flown by SpaceX.
On February 2016, it was announced that NASA had awarded a contract extension to SpaceX for five CRS additional missions (CRS-16 to CRS-20). As of June 2016[update], a NASA Inspector General report had this mission manifested for August 2018.
NASA has contracted for the CRS-16 mission from SpaceX and therefore determines the primary payload, date/time of launch, and orbital parameters for the Dragon space capsule. On the CRS-9 pre-launch conference, Kirk Shireman, NASA ISS program manager, stated that this mission would transport the IDA-3 docking adapter.
