World Forum for Ethics in Business


The World Forum for Ethics in Business is a registered public interest foundation based in Belgium. The mandate of the Forum includes all manners of pursuing and establishing the indispensable ethical foundations of business in a globalized world. The foundation is governed by its President Rajita Kulkarni, Director Christoph Glaser and its Board Members: Dr. Sanjay Pradhan, Vice President for Change, Knowledge and Learning, World Bank; Jo Leinen, Member of European Parliament, Nirj Deva, Member of European Parliament; Madhu Rao, CEO Shangri-La Hotels; Roland Glaser, Former CEO Minerva Schools and Ram Lakhina, Chairman of The Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade. The strategic partners of the World Forum for Ethics in Business are the World Bank Group and the International Association for Human Values.

Among the organization’s main objectives are providing a platform for the promotion and defence of ethical approaches to business enterprise and corporate governance and facilitating global dialogue and fostering cooperation among the private sector, the academic world, government agencies, international organizations, the media, spiritual as well as secular communities and all other stakeholders.

Through worldwide conferences, the World Forum for Ethics in Business brings together leaders from all sectors of society to dialogue on new leadership styles that support inclusive and sustainable development.

The foundation convenes in annual conferences at the European Parliament in Brussels and in international satellite conferences. The World Forum for Ethics in Business has organized satellite conferences in Singapore, Nepal, the Netherlands, India, Poland, Russia, Slovenia and the United Nations in Geneva, and at the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich.

The conference was first launched on the inspiration of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 2003 in Bangalore, India, and the venue moved to the European Parliament in Brussels in 2006. In January 2010 stakeholders from previous conferences joined forces and established a new independent organization, the World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB).

An initiative of the World Forum for Ethics in Business, the World Youth Forum is part of the annual conferences as an open platform for youth to voice their message to the world’s decision makers in today’s global economic and political environment and to the world community at large.
