It is widely cultivated as a garden plant and fruiting tree. Common names include feijoa (/feɪˈʒoʊ.ə/, /feɪˈdʒoʊ.ə/, or /feɪˈhoʊ.ə/),pineapple guava and guavasteen, although it is not a true guava.
