Street King is a flavored energy drink created by American rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Pure Growth Partners, CEO Chris Clarke.

Jackson partnered with Pure Growth Partners' Founder and CEO Chris Clarke to launch the product, which through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), provides a meal for a child in Africa with each shot purchased. The product is manufactured and distributed by Street King LLC in New York, NY.

He had already donated 3.5 million meals between the launch in September 2011 and January 2012.

Supermalt

Supermalt is a malt drink that is non-alcoholic and caffeine free. It has a high content of B-vitamin, minerals and nutrients, and has a balance of carbohydrates that supposedly allows instant absorption. It is very dark brown in colour, and has a sweet flavour. Supermalt may be purchased in 330ml glass bottles, cartons or cans, sold individually or in their respective six-packs, available in major supermarket chains in the UK such as Tesco, Asda/Walmart, Sainsbury’s, Iceland and Morrisons.

Supermalt is produced by Royal Unibrew A/S in Denmark, Scandinavia’s largest beverage exporter with a range of recognised global brands. Royal Unibrew has been specialising in the malt drink category for more than 140 years. Supermalt UK Ltd. (Royal Unibrew’s UK subsidiary) conducts marketing and distribution of the Supermalt brand in the UK, and has been the dominant supplier of malt drinks for the malt drinks market in the UK for many years.

It is popular among African and Caribbean communities.

Non-alcoholic malt drinks can be made by either traditional brewing method, where barley is steeped into malt and then brews into a creamy, rich consistency, or made like a soft drink by using malt extract. Supermalt uses traditional brewing skills for all its non-alcoholic batches.

The main difference between non-alcoholic malt drinks with non-alcoholic beers is that malt drinks are usually sweet and always dark in colour. The sweet notes are a combination of naturally occurring glucose, fructose, saccharose, maltose and maltriose.

Various products of Supermalt are being sold worldwide in more than 70 countries, and are mostly popular in the African and Afro-Caribbean societies in the UK. The primary consumer target group for malt drinks is the Afro-Caribbean population, which represents more than 1 million people in the UK, London being the largest single European market for malt drinks.

Tab Energy

imageTab Energy

Tab Energy is marketed as a low calorie energy drink named after Tab, Coca-Cola's original low-calorie cola brand. While it shares the Tab name, it is not a cola product like the original Tab. Fashion Week Daily describes it as a “sweet and sour beverage” with a taste “reminiscent of a liquid Jolly Rancher”. It is sweetened with sucralose (rather than saccharin), is pale pink, and lightly carbonated.

It is packed in 10.5-US-fluid-ounce (311 ml) slim cans (with a shape similar to the can used for Red Bull). The New Yorker notes than the original Tab has 31 milligrams of caffeine and less than 1 calorie (4.2 kJ) per serving, while Tab Energy has 95 milligrams of caffeine and 5 calories (21 kJ). (It also contains 785 mg taurine, 116 mg ginseng extract, 19 mg carnitine, and 0.90 mg guarana extract, according to the can.)

The drink is currently being targeted and advertised towards a female market as illustrated by the pink color theme and slogan 'Fuel to be Fabulous'. The song used in the American version of the commercial is "Cobrastyle" by the Teddybears.

Tab Energy is also available in Mexico since December 2006, in New Zealand since February 26, 2007, and in Spain since September 2008 under the name Tab Fabulous. This drink is currently being taken off the market by Coca-Cola.

Teany

imageTeany cafe

Teany, sometimes stylized as TeaNY or teany, was a tea café, restaurant and beverage distributor in New York City founded by electronic musician Moby with ex-girlfriend, Kelly Tisdale. The Teany Café opened in 2002 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York at 90 Rivington Street and closed in 2015.

The cafe is known for its assortment of teas, vegan options, and its decor, most of which was designed by Moby himself. Teany has also featured, during the first few months of its opening, the raw food specialty, Go-Go Greens, by vegan celebrity chef, Elijah Joy. Teany made a brief appearance in Moby's 18 B Sides + DVD. In January 2006, Teany was refocused as more of a traditional tea house and offered less food. Kelly took on a larger role on the business side of Teany with Moby taking a smaller one.

On June 19, 2009 a fire caused minimal damage to the tea house. Nobody was hurt and, according to Moby's online journal, it was Kelly's decision whether the cafe was going to be rebuilt or not. The tea house reopened in May 2010, briefly rebranded as Teany-ssimo, later reverting to the original name. Teany was shuttered for good in December 2015.

The beverage company distributed tea-juice mixtures to a number of shops around New York and New Jersey. In 2005, UK-based suburb secured an exclusive deal to sell Teany beverages and tea at its stores in Manchester and London.

The company allowed liberal pronunciation of the brand name, proclaiming, “you can pronounce it however you like. tea-knee. tee-nee. tea-enn-why,” and going on to state that Moby and Kelly themselves pronounce it “teenie”.

Tilt (drink)

Tilt is an alcoholic beverage launched in the US market in August 2005. Its alcoholic content by volume varies and is higher than most American beer (commonly 3–6%), 10% in the lemon lime flavor, to 12% in the new Tilt Red variety, which is a blend of fruit flavors such as cherry, orange, grape, lime and tropical fruit. Tilt drink products are sold in 16 and 24 fluid ounce cans. Since at least December 2010, all flavors appear to have 12% alcohol/volume.

Tilt was introduced as an energy drink containing alcohol and marketed as a "Premium Malt Beverage". The original formulation's active ingredients included caffeine, ginseng and Guarana.

In 2008, a re-formulated Tilt was launched with only caffeine. Budweiser changed the formulation for similar reasons to Miller Brewing Company, manufacturer of Sparks. Under pressure from special interest groups which in turn put pressure on state governments, caffeine was later banned as well. In September 2010, Tilt was reintroduced in a 24 fluid ounce can similar to Four Loko. Currently, Tilt is sold in seven flavors: Tilt Green, Red/Fruit Punch, Purple, Blue, Piña Colada and Watermelon. The cost is about $2.00 - $5.00. All flavors come in 6-12% alcohol.(varies state to state/store to store)

Other "malternatives" that used similar energy formulations include 3SUM, Four Loko, Joose, and Sparks. Tilt's alcoholic content by volume is similar to various formulations of these other drinks. The formulations for all US malt beverages containing caffeine changed between 2010 and 2011 due to pressure from Washington, DC lobbyists and the Food and Drug Administration. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had also delivered findings that these drinks were particularly in vogue with minors, and were likely to cause blackouts and other health risks, and increased the likelihood of a rape occurring, both on the part of the rapist and the victim. These findings, combined with parental outcry led to a ban on caffeinated alcoholic beverages in the United States.
